Disturbing youth problem in Gannochy

I was very concerned at our last meeting to hear about a three-year-old problem of youths gathering in the Gannochy area at night, drinking and causing a disturbance to the residents, particularly during the school holidays.

Under-age drinking is certainly not acceptable and requires an immediate police input. The Community Council recognises that there are no facilities in the area for our young folk and feels strongly that this requires addressed by the authorities. What do the residents think? Do you have any suggestions?

We've always called the police every time there is trouble in our area, and other residents have to do the same. There's no point in reporting it after a long period of time, as the police can't do much then. Tell the police every time and they'll build up a record. You could also consider doing a Neighbourhood Watch scheme and getting out there every night to check on the area. Don't just accept this!

qThe problems in the Gannochy area have been evident for more than double the years quoted. It is a sad fact that the authoriites are pandering to to those responsible for making the lives of residents who wish to live,(lawfully and peacefully) virtually unbearable. Surely it is time for severe action to be seen to be taken against the perpetrators or the guardians of the perpetrators in order to reverse the current (accepted by some)mayhem. Come on tose who wish to live in peace, let's get together, united we will overcome!!!!!!!!
